Long story short: I've moved to wordpress!

While I still yet to get the hang of wordpress', I've found that some of it is much better than blogger. The downsides are wordpress not supporting flash and I have no idea how to put up a poll for wordpress... Blogger's simplicity was what kept me here for a while, but wordpress does provide more room for creativity, since I have multiple pages and am no longer restricted to a small box whenever I want to make a post.

Everyone please update your links to my blog to http://feidamu.wordpress.com/ hopefully soon, because I'm going to delete this blog at the end of the week.

Natsu Matsuri 2008

Before I start, I'll warn that this is a very (blurry) picture intensive post, this kind of post makes me wish I had the post breaking thingy, so I may consider moving to wordpress, but that would mean re-uploading all my pictures, but at least I won't cause lag for interbutt users.

My first post as a newly initiated member of Team Blue, and also my first "assignment" as one. Today, I bring you my coverage of Natsu Matsuri(夏祭り, Summer Festival) 2008 at the Japanese Primary School.

The place was interesting, but the weather was lousy. The whole thing started with a Taiko performance, but being as short as I am and the size of the crowd, I couldn't see anything... Anyways, after the whole performance, we were finally allowed in, and I met up with comrades CI and Squee, after exchanging greetings and a short conversation, we went our separate ways to look around. They gave out fans while we were waiting to enter, and again at the entrance. unfortunately, I got two of the same fan... I WANTED THE PIKACHU FAN!!!

The first couple of hours were insane, as the whole place was crammed and you could hardly move around. The first stall I checked out was 77 Star, which was selling animation goods. I was a tad disappointed at their selection(Mainly Aquarion and Nana DVDs) of local DVDs(Which I have sworn never to buy)...

I then went to buy myself a souvenir before the stores ran out of good ones. I checked out the T-shirts, but they would cut my budget for the event in half(30 SGD), so I decided against it. I then went to check out the festival goods, where I found them selling them plastic masks which little kids wear on their faces or other festival goers wear on random spots on their heads. I wanted the Pikachu mask, but they were sold out, so I bought myself a TheBee mask instead.

After the mask, I went to buy myself a bottle of ramune, which I admit was a little confused on how to open at first, then I realized how to open it but it was awfully stiff, so instead of mounting the bottle against my chest and pushing the ball with both hands, I positioned the ball-pusher at the right spot, held the bottle in both hands, and pushed down with my chin(I wasn't about to take the risk of spilling the ramune). After the ramune, I went to get myself a wad of (expensive) cotton candy (wataame or watagashi, both mean cotton candy), which made me thirsty again, so I went to buy an ice-cream cone.

I then went to buy a bag of snacks from Meiji's stall, but was stuck behind a vast herd of girls who spent 20 minutes choosing one bag, only to put it back and pick another one in 30 seconds(Why can't women just pick and go? Gomenne, Naji-chan...), and I got cut in the queue by this Oji-san with two kids, even though I was there first, who spent 15 minutes choosing his own bag for his kids(Ok, so I guess it's not limited to women). After I finally penetrated the impregnable wall of vast herds, I picked the bag with the most strawberry flavored stuff(I like strawberry, but I'm not a trap, lacks bishoujo looks...) in 30 seconds and waited another 15 seconds to pay for it. The bag came with a small teddy bear (nuigurumi, which means stuffed toy), and the lady gave me two more, nice people...

After all the buying, I finally decided to take some photos of the event, so I'll show them to you now.

As you can see, it's a miracle I managed to buy anything in the first place.

After a while, I ran into comrade CI again before going to have a look at the game corners(Some bowling game, ball scooping and picking of balloon yoyos). I ran into a friend, who I assume came straight from work, and watched his friend try out the bowling game. While you might think these games are scams, there was this one lucky loli who won a huge Winnie the Pooh nuigurumi... Loli luck? If this is true, I foresee a Meido Cafe in Sweden sometime soon.

I then met comrades Squee and Fariz, who were waiting for comrade Chibi who was trying his hand at picking a balloon yoyo.

After he got one, we went to watch the highlight of the event, which was the performance which was originally intended to be held in the field, but due to Natsu Matsuri becoming Ame Matsuri, it was shifted to the sports hall instead. We then got a seat and started taking pictures, but due to there being much movement, most of the pictures are blurred, but at least you know that they're moving. Fariz took videos, so go swing by his blog for them once he's uploaded them.

After the performance, we went up to the gallery to take some pictures of the folk dancing, which I originally wanted to join, but due to worsened weather conditions which made me decide against wearing my yukata, didn't join in, so I just took photos. Fariz went down for more shots, while Squee, Chibi and I stayed up in the gallery. Squee took a few, but then he stopped, I just kept snapping and deleting older useless photos to make space for more. The last song we stayed for was "Chan Mari Chan", a Malay folk song, to which Chibi said, and I quote "What the fuck"... and I quite agree with him.

Ok, cookies for anyone who can tell where I ripped off the title from.

The title has no relation whatsoever to what this post is about, so I'll cut straight to the chase. I've just finished my exams on Tuesday, but I spent the whole of today playing Devil May Cry 4(my mother thinks the game is interesting, much to my chagrin), Magical Battle Arena and Battle Moon Wars, so I didn't manage to get anything done. If I don't get a job offer this week, I will most likely spend tomorrow morning playing DMC4 again, and only resume work on the 4koma, which stopped at the 4th installment. I've decided that every ~~5th~~10th installment will be a special strip, something like your Sunday comic strips, so it may not be 4 panels. ~~Keep an eye out for it sometime this weekend, because I'm going back to my weekly posting, but this time I'll do it on Saturday.~~ May be delayed because I screwed up the special I intended, it just doesn't cut it if it's not a video, plus I lack the l33t skills to make a stop motion video.

Fate Metal Charm Collection 01 Excalibur

Hey there, Type-moon and Fate/(Insert title here) fans! Animate has been scheming! And what have they been scheming? Why, TO STEAL YOUR MONEY, OF COURSE! Wait, that's standard behavior for them now...

As you can tell from the title, Animate will be releasing a set of Metal Charm Collections for the Fate franchise, not unlike the Device Metal Charm Collection for Nanoha... The first of these is none other than King/Queen Arthur/Arthuria's very own sword, given to her by the Lady of the Lake, Excalibur.

Excalibur comes with a small charm with Shirou's reijuu on it as well, so you get two things in one box. Excalibur is about 100mm long, and the charm has a length of about 25mm. Excalibur is scheduled for an October release this year, so don't miss your chance!

Just a little public safety announcement to make. It appears to be the mating season for dogs in our sunny little island, so keep yourself safe from humping canines. I just saved a girl from becoming the pioneer in creating inumimi crossbreeds, and I hope you will too(No, seriously, I did.). The dog had a collar, so I guess it belonged to someone. Had it been a stray, I would most likely have gone Shogouki on it, even if it kills me, which I once visualized doing and it made me too scared to sleep, really, I kid you not. Ikari Yui is very very brutal, so think twice before you bully Shinji.

I bet no one knows where that line is from, but I'll guess I'll explain it anyways...

About 5 to 6 years ago, I remember watching this show on a Malaysian television channel, dubbed in Cantonese. And I recall, just about as instantly, I fell in love with the anime(and one of the characters, GO LOLI FTW!).

NO HIGER-REZ?! NAZEDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?!

Anyways, the name of the anime is Dennou Boukenki Webdiver(電脳冒険記ウェブダイバー), literally Electronic Explorer Webdiver. It's set in 2100 Seireki(Anno Domini), where the whole world is connected through the internet. Children like our protagonist Yuuki Kento can enter a place in the digital world called the Magical Station and the children who do so are called Webdivers(Webudaiba-). However, a virus by the name of Deletloss(Deritossu) attacks the digital world, including the Magical Station, and in the process kidnapping Kento's little brother and his classmates. Kento and his classmate Arisagawa Aoi manage to escape safely, but Kento wants to save his brother. The Webknight(Webunaito) Gladion, who Kento is destined to fight alongside(because he has a toy which is actually Gladion's controller) offers him a chance to save his brother, by becoming his Webdiver. Naturally, Kento accepts, and thus our story begins.

Gladion is one out of thirteen Webknights who protect the Magical Station, and by having Kento Webdiving into him, Gladion gains a massive power boost, allowing him to defeat his enemies with many weapons. His most frequently used attack is Granvulcan(Guranvarukan), which he fires powerful vulcans located on his chest. He has two signature moves at the start of the series which utilize his Granblade weapon, which can switch between the Granmagnum(Guranmagunamu) mode and the Granblade(Guranbureedo) mode. His finisher with the Granmagnum is Break Shoot(Bureeku Shuuto, Nanoha watched Webdiver!), and the finisher with the Granblade is the Break Zan(Breeku Zan) literally Break Slash.

I'll stop before I go too deep into the series. I'll give you a list of the cast. Not that I hope to gain anything from it.

Well, as I said in my previous post, I got ripped off for my Dengeki G's Festival Deluxe and I've learned a lesson.

I'm going to have to fork out a large sum for another copy(a complete one this time), but at least I'll get to read the whole thing. Nanoha-san, however, wasn't going to let this matter rest...

While she touching herself to the magazine to pass time until Fate-san arrived, she suddenly stumbled across a horrifying thing...

Good Smile Company is coming out with a 1/7 scale figure of Ryougi Shiki Garan no Dou from the novel Kara No Kyoukai(Edge of Emptiness). All I can say about this figure is that she is utterly gorgeous... Very nicely sculpted, and not that all expensive for a figure either...

Shiki-san is going for 6,500円 this November.

Nanoha-san Goes to Town Episode II - The Great Expenditure

I went into town with Nanoha-san again, this time to spend a fortune at Kinokuniya(I probably have spent enough to buy stock in their company...). From 36 pictures, I have chosen 5 select pictures, not a lot to take pictures of today...

The trip there was full of people, I'm not sure why, is it some sort of religious event for the Chinese(I'm Chinese and yet I don't know anything, apart from this being the 7th month, or is that why?)?

Alighted at Sunshine Plaza first to look for stuff for my brother, but they didn't have it. I should have bought the Gundam character figures(the girls from the card battler), but I was worried that if I did, I wouldn't have enough money left. I saw quite a number of our fellow otaku while there, but I didn't recognize anyone. I was wearing a red T-shirt with a blue overshirt with a white and black backpack with a green camera pouch hanging from my neck, anyone saw me?

Boarded another bus to get to Clarke Quay, although I could have walked, the weather was as hot as Renais Kerdif-Shishioh's body temperature while she's in heat, so I decided to take an air-conditioned bus instead.

And as you can see(hopefully), Nanoha-san still enjoys riding in a bus...

On the way to Kinokuniya, the sky looked like it was going to rain, which made the whole situation worse because not only was it sweltering hot now, it was FUCKING humid as well, and my t-shirt wasn't as thin as I hoped...

Great weather to go out and about... Very nice weather indead... Un-un. Couldn't be better...

Spent a record total of 226.96 SGD(It was about 270++ before discount) at Kinokuniya today, which included volumes 2 to 9 of JINKI: Extend(Blade Comics version), Megami Creators, Dengeki Moeoh, Dengeki G's Magazine, Dengeki Hobby, Dengeki G's Festival Deluxe(Which I felt I got ripped off for, damned laws for anti-pr0n), Weekly Shounen Jump(Promo Yu-Gi-Oh! card) and Code Geass Queen Volume 4.

Dinner was a simple fare, had an Italian B.L.T. at Subway.

Italian BLT: $5.10. Meal to go with sub: $2.70. Dinner with Nanoha-san: Priceless.

I think I ate too fast, because I felt like puking for a while after dinner, so I walked back to the train station to take a train home.

I still can't believe I managed to carry all that back...

As you can see, it's quite a haul, not as successful as I would have wanted, but it's better than nothing, I guess.

However, bliss does NOT come cheap...

That is ONE FUCKING LONG receipt.

I'll review my Riot Zanbers together with my Figma Fate when I get her, have a wait a couple of weeks for her to arrive though, a friend of the friend who's bringing in my stuff for me bought 3 copies of the First Print Edition of Little Busters! Ecstasy from all the stores that had their own Genteiban tokuten(Limited edition special content). So he can't really squeeze everything into one shipment or he'll get bogged down in taxes, which results in me having to pay more than is necessary.

EDIT: I HAVE been ripped off for my Dengeki G's Festival Deluxe. I paid $75.20(before discount) for a book with over 10 missing pages when I could have paid less for a complete product, so now I have to fork out more money to get a complete copy. Lesson learnt: Don't order healthcare materials through official channels(Goes through customs and infinite layers of checking). On the plus side, I will then have two Kudo-chan oppai mousepads, so I get to use one.
